The Role Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre is seeking to appoint a treasurer with expertise and/or demonstrated skills in the following area:

  • Oversight the financial administration of the organisation, review procedures and financial reporting, advise the board on financial strategy. We currently have 6 Board members and are seeking a treasurer to join the Board who bring the required skills. The Board has identified the need for people who bring

  • Leadership and professional experience in Governance of a Not-For- Profit organisation.

  • Interest in our social justice based community services in City of Sydney Local Government Area and South Eastern Sydney

  • Personal qualities that fit with our values of accountability and professionalism, social justice, participation, respect, collaboration and courage.

  • Interest in our social justice based community services in City of Sydney Local Government Area and South Eastern Sydney

This is a volunteer position

Nominations for the position of treasurer are subject to the endorsement of the Board of Governors and approval of the Board in accordance with the Company constituent rules.

Requirements include:

  • Satisfactory Working with Children Check and National Police Checks are required for all Directors.
