Beyond Blue Volunteers - Sydney Mardi Gras Parade 2023

Beyond Blue
Logo for Beyond Blue

Beyond Blue is excited to be attending the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Parade! The world-renowned Parade returns to Oxford Street in celebration of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras’ 45th anniversary.

As the biggest event of the Sydney WorldPride festival, all eyes will be on the 12,500 marchers as 200+ floats adorn Oxford Street for the first time since 2020. This year’s theme Gather, Dream, Amplify will come to life with bigger than ever floats, lighting and firework shows, elevating the Parade along the entire revamped route from Hyde Park to Moore Park.

Volunteer roles You’ll join our huge crew of 80 volunteers in our famous blue t-shirts, marching through the iconic Oxford Street to show your support for mental health and LGBTIQ+ communities. We have some exciting Beyond Blue themed costumes for everyone to wear, ensuring we stand out for this televised event. You’ll receive a full briefing before the event and on the day to ensure you feel prepared and confident for a rewarding volunteer experience. You’ll also be eligible for up to $30 in reimbursements to cover the costs for transport, parking, food and drinks throughout the evening.

Your impact Volunteering with Beyond Blue is a great way to encourage conversations about mental health in the community, reduce stigma and help reduce the impact of anxiety, depression and suicide. Volunteering also helps you feel more socially connected and provides a sense of purpose, pride and accomplishment – all great protective factors for your mental health!

Spots are limited and will be highly sought after so make sure you get in early! We respectfully ask if you make a commitment to attend on the day, that you follow through so others don’t miss out.

Thank you! Each event that Beyond Blue participates in relies on our incredible teams of volunteers. It is because of our volunteers that we can reach communities across Australia and make a difference to mental health and wellbeing. Thank you so much for your support, we couldn’t do this without you.
