Meal Connect Volunteer – Perth Metro

The program

With a focus on individuals, groups and communities in vulnerable situations, volunteers provide fresh produce and pantry items to people at no cost who are homeless, socially disadvantaged or on very low incomes. The Meal Connect Volunteer is required to have excellent communication skills and an understanding and empathy for people from diverse backgrounds, at all times behaving in a completely impartial and non-judgmental manner.

The opportunity

Volunteers must be over 18 and must have a valid C class driver’s licence. The Meal Connect Volunteer is required to have excellent communication skills and an understanding and empathy for people from diverse backgrounds, at all times behaving in a completely impartial and non-judgmental manner.

Volunteers will need to:

  • Turn up and be on time for your rostered shift ‐ ﴾9am‐12pm Thursday)
  • Be able to complete a minimum of one shift per month
  • Distribute fresh produce and pantry items to all clients
  • Ensure all sections of the Meal Connect questionnaire is completed accurately during the service
  • Ensure any remaining boxes of produce is brought back, stored in the depot and vehicle is clean
  • Act in accordance with Australian Red Cross and Meal Connect guidelines at all times
