Community Sewing Teacher
HUB Community Projects Inc.Our weekly Women's Group has been running for four years now and is a wonderful social event that has built many beautiful connections and friendships.
Sewing is a particularly popular activity at the HUB! Many of our regular attendees come from diverse backgrounds including refugee/asylum seekers and express a desire to learn the skill. Teaching participants to sew gives many benefits - improved confidence, greater social connection, the ability to make or fix items for their family and even a source of income if they are able to make things to sell.
To be successful in this role, all your need beyond sewing skills is an open mind and a friendly and patient attitude! We are flexible in regards to commitment, so if you can only attend sometimes, that is fine. We will provide orientation and ongoing support. This is a great group to join to build some lovely connections.
