Community Visitors - Metro North, South, West
Unitingcare Wesley BowdenAbout Us For over 150 years, we have delivered social services that are shaped around individual needs and goals to help create positive futures built on independence and esteem. We are an agency of the Uniting Church in Australia and today, we deliver services in aged care, child & family, financial health, mental health & NDIS. We also operate two social enterprises, a community child care centre and a psychology practice.
About the Role Our Community Visitors are volunteers who visit people who are experiencing, or who are at risk of social isolation or loneliness. Visits can be in a group at aged care homes or one-on-one at the homes of aged care package recipients. Visitors can just have a cup of tea and a chat, sit together to watch a movie or a sporting game, or just spend time together. You may also like to be creative and work together on activities like games, craft or reading.
About You You will be kind, outgoing and love to have a good yarn. We are seeking volunteers who are able to make an ongoing commitment of at least 1 hour a fortnight.
You will require a current South Australian Driver's licence and your own transport to and from visits.
You will also be required to, or be willing to undergo a DHS Volunteer Screening or a National Police Check, and have a current COVID-19 and flu vaccination.
