We need your help this holiday season. Become a Volunteer Community Visitor and give the most precious gift of all – you . . .

The holiday season can be a very sad difficult time for many of the vulnerable people in your community who experience loneliness and social isolation. The Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) is a government-funded program that matches a volunteer visitor with a lonely or isolated person living in an aged care facility or in their own home. The Volunteer and resident are matched according to similar interests or background. The visits are regular and purely social, with the intention of developing an ongoing friendship and social connectedness.

Central Bayside Community Health Services (CBCHS) is a not-for-profit organisation providing a wide range of services to support healthy living, general wellbeing and social connection in our community. Hear from some our current and past volunteers –

“I shared time with beautiful people who brought so much joy to my life and I hope I did the same for them. ” - Past CVS Volunteer

“When we laugh and smile together, I know that I am making a difference and it’s worth a million words.” - Current CVS Volunteer

“I ended up making my own days brighter in the process.” - Past CVS Volunteer

Just an hour a fortnight can make a huge difference! All new Volunteers must be fully vaccinated and undergo a police check. We provide full training and support.
