Sydney Multicultural Community Services LtdSydney Multicultural Community Services, Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) program is funded by the Department of Social Services (DSS) and initiated by the Department of Health. The program serves culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) residents, who may be isolated by limited family support, and language and cultural barriers.
Sydney MCS recruits, trains, and supports volunteers to visit eligible residents either in an aged care facility or at home. The Volunteer Community Visitor is matched with the elderly resident (+65 years old's) according to language and cultural backgrounds and possibly other interests, throughout Sydney Metropolitan area.
Essential Criteria: • Respect the rights of the client including confidentiality, privacy and maintain dignity. • Exercise a duty of care at all times. • Communication skills (listening and speaking skills). • Emotional qualification skills, teamwork, reporting skill, community services skills, and other skills which will be helpful in assisting seniors and the elderly.
Requirements: • COVID-19 VACCINE (third vaccination) or booster is a MUST. • Complete a mandatory Police check. • Inductions and online training will be provided by Sydney MCS.
