Accessibility/Disability Support Volunteer for LGBTIQ+ Events
Living Proud WAVolunteer alongside staff and other volunteers of Living Proud's Queer & Accessible project at large LGBTIQ+ events to increase accessibility for people with disability.
Disability experience is not essential but please let us know if you have experience in Auslan, guiding, etc.
Volunteers are encouraged to attend a Volunteer Information Session (2 hours) and will receive briefing notes detailing the tasks involved and limits of the role.
Key Tasks
Provide support for people with disability to access LGBTIQ+ events, particularly during PrideFEST in November, by:
*Providing information about accessibility at large LGBTIQ+ events
*Supporting individuals to access specific areas of large LGBTIQ+ events, e.g. food trucks
About Living Proud
Living Proud has provided support to LGBTIQ+ people and communities in WA for over 40 years. We are the WA partner of the QLife national LGBTIQ+ telephone and web chat peer-support and referral service. We also run health and wellbeing initiatives, community capacity building and provide information about LGBTIQ+ identities and issues to the wider community.
