As a Social Inclusion Volunteer – English language teacher, you will be connected with someone who wishes to learn English, both written and conversational. Your role will provide companionship and support with a focus on helping the client to learn English. The role will nurture the client’s well-being by improving their ability to participate in the community. Research shows that people who are lonely or isolated have poorer physical and mental health outcomes. The successful candidate will have similar interests or experiences as the client, and ideally, speak Hakka/Mandarin.

You will bring your friendly and good interpersonal skills to the role. You will have experience assisting people to learn English and may have a relevant qualification to teach English to people who speak other languages.

You will be working in a supportive and inclusive team. You will receive opportunities for professional and personal development.

We welcome Volunteers at NRCH to contribute to, and share our Mission of building healthy communities by making healthcare more accessible and culturally relevant.
Our vision is for healthcare that builds community. We encourage applications from residents in the City of Yarra and/or people who can speak community languages. NRCH is wheelchair accessible, and is close to a number of public transport options. Let us know if you have any specific support/access needs. Need help to apply? Please let the Volunteer Program Coordinator know if you need support to complete the application form and recruitment process.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
