The City of West Torrens Hamra Centre Library is a bustling hive of activity. So much so, that we're looking for volunteers to help out with our home delivery and client pick up services.

The West Torrens Library Service provides an important function for thousands of people in our community as it helps them connect and supports them with the loan of resources such as books, living aids, craft kits and more.

Unfortunately, some of our community find it difficult to get to our Hamra Centre Library, so we provide two services - a home delivery service of resources and a pick-up service for those who wish to visit our library.

You can choose from the following two roles:

Client pick up role

The role of our client pick up volunteer is to work with our Library's Collections Coordinator to collect clients from their homes and transport them to our Hamra Centre Library in Hilton.

As such, the volunteer must have a Class C driver's licence, a good driving record and the ability to communicate effectively with people from all walks of life.

Home Library delivery role

Like the client pick up role, the delivery person also works with our Collections Coordinator but rather than bringing people to our library, this position involves the delivery of books and resources to residents who can't visit in person.

Similar to the client pick up role, the delivery role person must have a Class C driver's licence, good driving record and the ability to communicate effectively with people from all walks of life.

Both positions will require an Aged Care and Sector Employment DCSI screening check as well as a basic level of fitness.
