The Darebin Toy Library is a small community service, based in Northcote, directly operated by Council to offer a sustainable, accessible toy library service for families with young children aged from 3 months to six years of age. Families can access this free membership-based service to borrow toys and equipment, to enhance their children's development through quality play experiences.
We're looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to assist members with toy borrowing and returns. Volunteers will work alongside the Toy Library Officer and fellow volunteers.
Activities include:
- checking toys for safety and cleanliness
- updating the toy catalogue database
- returning toys to shelves for borrowing
- greeting members
- helping members to borrow, return and find toys
Skills and attributes include:
- friendly manner
- good communication skills
- punctual and reliable
- good attention to detail
- ability to work with families with young children

This volunteer role requires volunteers to:

Darebin City Council is a child safe organisation. As part of our volunteer screening process, we require successful volunteers to hold a valid Working with Children Check and complete a Police Check.
