Writers-in-Residence Internship

Rotation cubed is a young start up committed to increasing political literacy and developing the next generation of outstanding political leaders.
As a Writer-in-Residence Intern you will research and produce articles which strengthen future civic, political, and social literacy among young people.
Scope of topics include:
- Social media and influence - role of digital platforms in shaping beliefs, identity, and participation
- Media - how to critically consume and understand news and information
- Civic and political education - what young people are (and aren’t) taught in schools
- Government and political structures - explainers on power and function at local, national, and global level
- Economic policies - unpacking relevant government commitments relevant to young people
You will:
- Collaborate with a supportive, remote team in a non-partisan, ideas-first environment
- Receive constructive editorial feedback
- Build a portfolio of published work while engaging in meaningful discussions
- Gain exposure and experience in the field of online publishing
Who we are looking for:
- Be committed to producing 1-2 original pieces per month
- Have strong writing skills, writes clearly and with purpose, even if still developing their voice
- Demonstrate strong research skills and commitment to accuracy
- Be open to feedback and eager to improve their writing through mentorship
- Have the ability to work independently and manage their own time effectively in a remote environment
Additional requirements
- Access to a laptop and internet
- Availability to commit for six-months

- Integrity - fulfilling the duties and responsibilities with commitment, acting ethically and respectfully.
- Adaptive and a learner’s attitude - be comfortable with the unknown that comes with working on a new endeavour while having fun along the way.
