About Put Them First

Put Them First (PTF) is a small, not for profit organisation dedicated to improving the physical and emotional wellbeing and safety of infants who are in the alternative (or foster) care environment. Our focus is infants from newborn to 2 years old, the most developmentally vulnerable time in a child’s life.

We genuinely believe that all infants deserve to grow up happy, healthy and safe, enjoying the same opportunities as those available to children whose protection does not require intervention by “Child Safety.”

About this role

Our ideal Website Coordinator will be someone who enjoys using Wordpress (or an equivalent wysiwyg editor) to create fabulous looking, informative web pages with effective SEO.

Thanks to the efforts of previous volunteers, we have an established website (putthemfirst.org.au). Moving forward, we're ready to improve the look, feel, and functionality of the site. Content currency is also a priority, ensuring the site continuously aligns with our social media messages, promotes our sponsors and upcoming events, and reflects the progress of our key initiatives.

There is also potential for this position to research alternative hosting options and play a lead role in the eventual migration to a new service.

What will you do in this role?

• Using Wordpress develop new web pages and modify existing pages, based on content and feedback provided by other team members

• Ensure that content aligns with and links to social medial platforms (social media posts are not the responsibility of this position)

• Optimise content around specific keywords to increase traffic from search engine to website

• Optimise the web aesthetics and take initiative in requesting photos, pics, and/or more text from relevant team members

• Test and quality assure web pages prior to publishing

• Analyse website engagement using analytics and update as necessary – using Google Analytics

• Update plugins and site security

• Provide regular web activity reports to the PTF Board

What will you need for this role?

• Wordpress (or an equivalent wysiwyg editor) experience

• Demonstrated attention to detail

• Demonstrated sense for web aesthetics, graphics presentation and content priority

• Your own device with appropriate security to support the integrity of the PTF website

• To be able to work remotely, but also collaborate with a small, supportive, remote-working team

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
