Overview

So far, the stories of 120 outstanding LGBTIQA + young leaders have been celebrated through the success of OFA’s annual 30 Under 30 Awards. This new role of Chief Storytelling Officer will help OFA tell better stories from our LGBTIQA+ community all year round. In this senior leadership role, you will support OFA to make an impact by using data, facilitating research, and highlighting our community’s stories. You will support the impact evaluation of OFA’s initiatives, work with diverse stakeholders to uncover innovative insights for our community and celebrate role models in our community.

Responsibilities

Support OFA’s annual flagship event, the 30u30 Awards (25%)

  • Develop a 30 Under 30 strategy which delivers a successful 30 Under 30 campaign, and celebrates the campaign’s stories year-round.
  • Ensure a successful 30 Under 30 event (annually in October), including by recruiting a volunteer team.
  • Provide surge capacity to support the campaign and event where required.

Oversee OFA’s impact evaluation process (25%)

Work with the National Director of Data to support the impact evaluation of OFA’s key initiatives, including:

  • overseeing data collection across portfolios;
  • synthesising key insights from data collected;
  • visualising the data for the Senior Executive and Board.

Support strategic research projects (20%)

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to conduct research to understand and communicate the needs of our community.
  • Recruit and onboard a Director of Research and Insights.

Lead Strategic Pillar for Role Models, and support the Thought Leadership Pillar (10%)

  • Champion role models across OFA by working collaboratively with key stakeholders to integrate them across OFA’s initiatives.
  • Work with the Chief Marketing Officer to support the promotion of research and insights for the Thought Leadership Pillar.

Organisational senior leadership responsibilities (10%)

  • Participate in National Executive meetings (every six weeks).
  • Participate in Senior Executive meetings, with the rest of the C-Suite (every three weeks).
  • Weekly communication with the CEO, including fortnightly 1-on-1s.
  • Contribute to high-level strategic and organisational planning.

General team expectations (10%)

  • Undertake an OFA induction and role onboarding.
  • Understand and implement OFA’s strategy, vision and mission.
  • Uphold our code of conduct.
  • Assist with initiatives as required.
