About the Program Elizabeth House is more than just a Positive Ageing Centre; it is a hub of connection and support for residents aged 50 years and above. Our volunteers are the heart and soul of our services, offering their time and dedication to enrich the lives of others. As a Volunteer Bus Driver, you will make a real difference by transporting older adults who cannot drive or use public transport to attend to their social needs.

Key Tasks • Provide safe and friendly transportation for residents to and from the centre. • Assist passengers with their needs, including support with walkers and bags • Uphold professionalism and care throughout the journey. • Report incidents, hazards, and accidents promptly.

Skills/Knowledge/Personal Qualities • Recent experience driving passenger vehicles or large vehicles. • Ability to work effectively within a team. • Empathy with older adults and people with disabilities. • Excellent customer service skills or willingness to undergo training. • Physically able to fulfil the role. • Ability to relate to a diverse range of people.

Time Commitment Join us every Monday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm and become vital to our community's support network.

Special Requirements • Valid South Australian driver's license. • Satisfactory National Police Check (NPC) – this can be organised for you. • The successful applicant must possess and provide a Department of Human Services (DHS) clearance (Aged Care Sector) and (NDIS Worker Check) prior to offer of employment. - this can be organised for you. • Medical Clearance. • Competency level achieved by driving – this will be organised for you.
