If you’re interested in connecting with older people who are socially isolated, we’d love to hear from you! We’re looking for Volunteers who are creative thinkers and committed to supporting people live their best lives. Volunteers who can support older people with their goals around staying independent, healthy and connected to their community.

You may be interested in a connection with Tracey, who describes herself as positive, outgoing and humorous. Tracey enjoys cooking, gardening, watching documentaries and English drama on TV and her pet dog. In the past she was interested in sewing, renovations and working on cars. Connecting with Tracey may involve visiting at home, having a chat over the phone, meeting for a coffee and/or sharing a skill. It might involve checking out what’s on offer at a local neighbourhood centre, library or an activity of interest.

We offer opportunities in skill and knowledge development, as well as ongoing support and mentoring. As a Uniting Volunteer you’ll be able to access our online learning library with over 200 courses on offer. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently are a must. Having a driver’s licence/access to own vehicle is highly desired but not essential. We value diversity in lived experience, language, skills and abilities.

If you are interested in more information about Volunteering in our Social Support Program, connecting to Tracey or another older person in your area, please phone 13 93 75 and quote ML-N-09. Name changed for privacy
