This volunteer position exists at our Gold Coast AWLQ Rehoming Centre, working closely with AWLQ staff within the Cat Isolation/Quarantine Section. This position involves the daily cleaning of cat enclosures, as well as providing essential care and enrichment of the cats at our shelters.

This is a hands on role and includes tasks such as:

• Litter cleaning/changing
• Daily feeding
• Floor cleaning
• Equipment cleaning and upkeep
• Rubbish management and disposal
• Assisting with linen and laundry requirements
• Enrichment and general care

Volunteers interested in this role will first need to be trained within our Cat Rehoming Area prior to volunteering in the Cat Care Quarantine and Isolation Area.

This position is a more specialised role with strict rules and instructions in place to assist with disease control. Suitable candidates applying for this volunteer position must be able to listen to instructions and adhere to the strict guidelines in place for the cats safety. They would be self-motivated, comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment, ability to work autonomously and driven to provide a high level of animal care, with medium level of fitness needed.

We are seeking reliable volunteers, aged 18 and over, who are efficient, exhibit a courteous manner, a good attitude and a hard working nature.
