1. Who is Women of Colour Australia (WoCA)

Women of Colour Australia (WoCA) is a not-for-profit organisation and a registered charity established in August 2020. We are run by women of colour for women of colour. We exist to champion Australia’s women of colour through programs of education, community support initiatives, and advocacy work.

Our Vision: A world where girls and women of colour are afforded equitable opportunities to reach their full potential.

Our Purpose: To advocate, support, and strengthen the lives and experiences of Women of Colour in all places and spaces in Australia.

2. Duties Reporting to the Lead, Fundraising Team, the Fundraising Strategist’s duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop WoCA’s fundraising strategy with creative campaigns across a variety of channels to grow WoCA’s WoC Harm Prevention Fund.
  • Develop engagement strategies to secure and maintain relationships with new partners and donors
  • Develop retention strategies to engage and maintain relationships with existing partners and donors
  • Identify new partnerships/donors across a variety of fundraising streams including private, major donors, corporate, government and foundations
  • Prepare professional, timely and effective proposals to prospective partners/donors
  • Collaborate with other WoCA committees to execute fundraising strategy

3. Attributes The ideal candidate must have:

  • Previous experience developing and delivering successful fundraising campaigns for non-profit organisations
  • Experience designing donor-centred campaigns targeting a variety of donor streams
  • Strong relationship management and high-level interpersonal skills for communicating and negotiating with partners
  • Passionate advocate for Women of Colour
  • Sensitivity and awareness of the barriers and challenges faced by Women of Colour both in the professional and personal spheres
