Cockburn Care Social Club Support volunteers add value to the services and activities provided at the Social Club.

The Social Club is a supported environment for aged residents and people with disabilities to maintain social connections and engage in meaningful recreational activities

Key Tasks Provide support to members during outings and activities under the supervision of Activities Officers Engage in meaningful activities with members using resources provided Spend one on one time with socially isolated members Report concerns regarding the welfare or safety of members to the Coordinator or an Activity Officer immediately Provide encouragement to members Contribute to activity planning and coordination in areas of expertise (if applicable) Provide physical support to clients within the range of personal capacity (e.g. help to carry bags and assist members with mobility issues) Assist members on and off the bus and support the driver during member pick ups

This role is ideal for someone with a genuine interest in working with Seniors and People with disability, excellent interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills including the to listen and communicate with people who experience communication difficulties.

Cockburn Care volunteers will be provided with the following training: Induction (including Work health and saftey) at commencement Manual Handling annually Infection Control annually Disability training *Food Safety annually (certification required during Induction)
