The Comprehensive GenesisCare Joondalup Centre offers oncology services including radiation therapy and chemotherapy. We are seeking volunteers to provide patients with information on the many Cancer Council Supportive Care Services available and to provide a listening ear when needed.

Volunteers play a vital role in providing information and materials about Cancer Council's supportive care programs and directing patients to our information line, operated by dedicated nurses who can provide further information and support for cancer related questions or concerns patients may have.

Requirements:

• An outgoing, friendly and warm personality with a patient focus • Enjoy meeting and talking with people from diverse backgrounds • Excellent oral communication skills, highly developed listening skills • Empathy and patience • A professional approach to the role • Willing to participate in training • Fluency in another language would be bonus • Attend any required training and team meetings • Participate in a regular feedback process and annual reflection

This service operates weekly Monday to Friday. We are currently looking for volunteers who can provide a regular commitment to a 3-hour shift either morning or afternoon with availability from 9.00am – 12.00pm or 12.00pm - 3.00pm.
