Driver - Visitor Buggy - Westmead - # 183837

Western Sydney Local Health District
Logo for Western Sydney Local Health District

Drive buggy (similar to golf cart) within Westmead Hospital. Buggy is based at main entry and is for the use of visitors and out-patients who cannot walk, or find it difficult to walk, to their appointment. The service assists with the patient and visitor experience.

Volunteer drivers must become familiar with hospital locations; be able to operate a buggy that does not have power steering; be able to deal with the public in a busy environment and handle occasional stressful situations.

Benefits: Volunteers become part of the overall Westmead volunteer team. On rostered days, Volunteers are provided with validated parking, a lunch voucher and are covered by insurance while on duty. A uniform is provided. Buggy drivers receive training, induction and support. In addition to regular duties, volunteers are invited to social occasions and are recognised for their service.

A national police check is conducted on the volunteer's behalf and a Working With Children Check is free for volunteers.
