Wyong Neighbourhood Centre is running a frozen meal program in the kitchen at the Red Tree Theatre is a brand-new commercial kitchen with all of the mod cons, commercial dish washers and equipment, large commercial freezers.

Team Leader Duties: organising the weekly recipes to cook, collecting the donated ingredients from Wyong N/C and taking it to the Red Tree Theatre the day before the cook. Doing shopping for any ingredients needed the day before the cook. Organising the team for the weekly cook and assisting with the meal prep.

The meals cooked are regular home cooked style recipes depending on what has been donated. For example, some weeks they will make up a big batch of mashed potato, veggies and gravy to go with a meat-based donation and other times the cooks make up a batch of pasta sauce to go with donated pasta. The meals are stored in the take away containers and are frozen so that we can give them away to our vulnerable clients across the organisation. They are given to homeless people, families and individuals who are needing food assistance.
