The Salvation Army AustraliaKey Activities and Expectations Recruitment support • Contact participants to make appointments to assist with their resumes, booking for group sessions and for one-on-one mentoring appointments
• Discuss opportunities for both education and study
• Pre-screen, coach, and mentor participants with tailored options for employment, education and training to best prepare for their journey to employment. Liaise with Participants
• Discuss goal plans and progress identifying any barriers to employment
• Provide suitable tailored options inline with best recruitment practises
Build resumes
• Assist participants to create their resume by utilising the prescribed template and guidelines
• Report to Program Coordinator on numbers of resumes completed and which participants need follow up for reverse marketing
• Refer to appropriate training and education opportunities
• Refer and liaise with external stakeholders to help support Youth in the development of both their vocational and non-vocational barriers
• Update databases to track support provided to applicants and record how they are tracking at each appointment
Follow up with Participants
• Ensure all participants who have missed appointments are rescheduled
• Escalate any ongoing issues to Corps Officers
Maintain a Safe and Healthy Environment
• Ensure correct manual handling procedures are followed • Ensure infection control measures are applied
• Immediately report any health and safety concerns, notifiable incidents and near misses, to Corps Officers and ensure any hazards are controlled until rectified
• Ensure hazard, incident and accident form is completed when required
Required for the position
• Complete The Salvation Army (TSA) Mission Volunteer registration, induction, and training - TSA is a ChildSafe workplace.
• Police Check
• Current Blue Card
• Experience in recruitment, youth services or social services preferred but not essential
• Have a general understanding and/or appreciation of recruitment trends and assisting people to find work
• Experience in customer service and/or administration is preferred, with strong attention to detail
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Officer and using HR Systems (or other similar systems)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• High level of understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements
• Able to build rapport and trust quickly with Youth
• Represents the organisation in an honest, ethical and professional way
• Shows personal motivation and commitment to completing work activities effectively
• Recognises and respects the rights and beliefs of others in a non-judgemental way
• Willingness to learn

Desirable For The Position
• Qualifications in or currently studying Business Management, HR or equivalent is highly desired but not essential
• Experience in Youth Work or Recruitment highly desired
