VMCH is currently welcoming volunteers to engage with residents who have personalised activities which has been tailored to meet their individual interests, cultural background, and physical abilities, you would provide conversation and assistance to create a wonderful interlude which can enhance a resident's day.

How Social visitors can engage with Residents • Visit face to face to support older person living in residential care • Be matched with someone you can chat with about shared and common interests, • reminiscing old stories • walk through our gardens together • meet in the library for a game of cards, complete a puzzle • support a resident to participate in organised facility activities.

People who choose to volunteer with VMCH will • Have great verbal communication skills, to be able to keep a conversation going • Allow us to fit into your schedule, let us know your availability and we will find the best match for you with some of the residents with similar interests. • create new special memories for yourself and for residents who benefit from your gift of time.

What volunteers at VMCH like to know before they start • Applicants need to be willing to be part of a team environment. • Minimum 2-hour regular commitment • Forming connections does take time, so consider the benefits to longer-term volunteering Volunteering even a small amount of time, provides connection and companionship, which can have a major and direct impact on the lives of others.
