The program

Seeking volunteers to assist with our Driver Mentor Program, which aims to assist learner driver's gain their 75 hours compulsory learner driver experience as a part of their learner driver requirements.

The opportunity

You must hold current full drivers license for the vehicle class being driven for the past two years. Must not have driving disqualifications in the past two years. Complete a Child Related Employment Screening Certificate, National Police Clearance and SA GOV driver licence report (we will support). 

Using Red Cross vehicles the Volunteer Driver Mentor will sit alongside the learner driver and provide supervision, support, and basic training. Volunteers will be assigned a learner driver and will work together over a period of time to complete the on-road hours (1 hour sessions unless otherwise negotiated). 

The impact

Positively impact a persons life by supporting them to complete 75 hours required driving practice, with the aim of obtaining their provisional license. The volunteer will receive several hours basic training from a qualified instructor (subject to availability).
