Deputy Community Engagement Director

Out for Australia

For the full Position Description and details on how to apply, see the Out For Australia website.

Overview

The Deputy Community Engagement Director will support the National Community Engagement Director in identifying, forming and managing a positive working relationship with key external national organisations such as:

  • industry peak bodies/associations;
  • community organisations (whether LGBTQIA+ or diversity more generally); and
  • university peak bodies/associations.

The purpose of these relationships is as follows:

  • Principally, increase awareness of and participation in OFA offerings across organisations and their members and followers.
  • Where appropriate, develop tangible ways that OFA can work with other organisations to achieve our vision (aligned to our strategic plan and with consideration of our available resources).
  • Increase the diversity and intersectionality of OFA through community engagement activities.
  • Learn from other organisations similar to OFA on how they have been successful (and also share our own successes).

Out of scope: Relationships with formal corporate partners and specific universities.

The role will provide an opportunity for the successful applicant to work closely with the National Community Engagement Director, with a view that the Deputy role will transition into this role at a later date.
