DVCS Volunteers Hub

Position Duties: • Provide non-judgmental, friendly, empathetic and compassionate customer service in a manner that upholds the dignity and privacy of the client • Assist people in crisis by providing emergency relief which can include distributing food, supermarket vouchers, fuel cards, phone cards, travel cards and other financial assistance. • Assist people seeking information and/or support by accessing information from brochures or Internet databases • Identify and assess client requests and needs and provide referral to appropriate agencies and assistance programs • Advocate on behalf of clients and help them to access other assistance programs - CSWs are interviewers and not counsellors. • Provide practical administrative support as required (e.g. help with printing, drafting letters, filling out forms) • Follow established agency policies and procedures as required
