Uniting offers an Emergency Relief program for those experiencing hardship. The program provides an opportunity for members of the community to access a range of supports, including donated items, food, material goods and referrals to services. The purpose of this volunteer position is to provide support to community members accessing Emergency Relief by conducting face to face interviews with consumers who are presenting for assistance and help facilitate referrals to other programs and agencies.

Emergency Relief interview volunteers are compassionate and non-judgmental in their approach and the ability to respond with empathy to consumers in crisis. Interviews will be completed face to face and over the phone.
