If you’re interested in connecting with older people who are socially isolated, we’d love to hear from you! We’re looking for Volunteers who are creative thinkers and committed to supporting people live their best lives. Volunteers who can support older people with their goals around staying independent, healthy and connected to their community.

You may be interested in a connection with Angela, who describes herself as easy going, friendly and is someone who enjoys the company of others. Angela enjoys spending time with family, playing cards and reading.

In the past Angela enjoyed visiting galleries, film and was also part of a Book Club. Connecting with Angela may involve visiting her at home, having a chat over the phone, meeting up for a coffee and/or sharing a skill. It might involve checking out what’s on offer at a local neighbourhood centre, library, a live music event or an activity of interest.

We offer opportunities in skill and knowledge development, as well as ongoing support and mentoring. As a Uniting Volunteer you’ll be able to access our online learning library with over 200 courses on offer. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently are a must. Having a driver’s licence/access to own vehicle is highly desired but not essential. We value diversity in lived experience, language, skills and abilities.

If you are interested in more information about Volunteering in our Social Support Program, connecting to Angela or another older person in your area, please phone 13 93 75 and quote KC-W-05 Name changed for privacy.
