Administrative Assistant - South Coast Writers Centre Committee of Management

The South Coast Writers Centre is seeking a volunteer admin assistant for the committee of management.

  • The SCWC is a not-for-profit with a public fund and its operations are overseen by a voluntary committee of management
  • For the position of Admin Assistant, the SCWC seeks someone who is able to present assist the committee with tasks including: drafting documents, making room bookings, electronic filing, and completing applications.
  • The Board serves on a voluntary basis and meets for two hours every second month in Coledale, Wollongong or online, to discuss governance, fiscal management, development, and artistic program.
  • This is a voluntary position with a minimum twelve month commitment.

The South Coast Writers Centre supports the creation and enjoyment of Australian literature through the provision of creative and professional development, literary events and audience growth across the New South Wales South Coast. With offices based in Wollongong, the Centre aims to promote regional writers and writing in Australia while fostering creative and professional development for South Coast writers. The development of existing and new audiences for writers and writing is strongly supported, and the distinct literary cultures of the South Coast are valued and sustained. The Centre always strives for the inclusion of South Coast writers in Australian literary culture and ultimately endeavours to maintain social inclusion, access, equity and the participation of members in all aspects of the Centre.
