Welcome Officer
Pets of Older Persons (POOPS)Pets of Older Persons (POOPS) require a Welcome Officer to meet with new clients in their home, answer questions and be a welcoming contact point. The role includes assessing the dog (cats are rare!) on a short walk for ease of walking, uploading meeting outcomes and pet assessment finding to an online database and communicating with the Lead Welcome Officer/Area Coordinator. Requirements; Drivers licence and own vehicle. Fuel subsidy allowance available. Experience in care/support/nursing/counselling sector is favourable and interest in meeting and talking with older people. Basic understanding of pet(mainly dog) behaviour, and/or willingness to learn. Resilience, patience and empathy in potentially emotional situations. Understanding of POOPS services and/or willingness to learn. Minimum basic database and email skills, training will be provided. Own PC/Laptop computer required and 'phone.
