We have events across the State that require around 20-30 Flag Marshals. This is a test of stamina as you will be out in the field for majority of the day. Full Training ,Toilet breaks and lunch will be provided! Plus most clubs pay between $75 - $100 per day / each event. FREE Online Course and equipment provided.

As a marshal you are an important member of any racing organisation, without your valuable time and knowledge there would be no racing. The Job - It is your job to warn oncoming riders and this must be carried out first. Clearing the track or helping injured or trapped riders is a secondary task and should only be performed if it is safe to do so and still warn oncoming riders. Be careful to not put yourself in a dangerous position. Territory and Position - The flag marshal will be instructed by the chief marshal or clerk to cover a particular part of the course. (i.e. usually a jump or a corner). The area you will be responsible for is from your flag point to the next point. Try to mainly watch the riders after they have passed your flag point. If a waved medical flag is displayed at the next point after yours, display your yellow flag as a stationary yellow to warn of the ahead medical flag. This is the only time you should display your flag when the obstruction is not in your territory. Method - The signal to riders is performed by displaying the flag by the following two methods. 1.Stationary (hold flag stick and base of flag at shoulder height) 2.Waved (single hand large figure 8 motion) Not only do the riders need to see this but all officials also need to see this. Report to clerk of course any rider who does not comply with the flag signals. Please be aware that you must have a blood alcohol level of “0” to participate as an official. You must also have No drugs in your System.
