Job Description · Safely test electrical items using a Portable Appliance Tester
· Attach a durable test tag to item with the test date, surname of person performing test, status of test, reference to AS/NZS 3760 and next test/inspection date
· When re-inspecting, testing and tagging equipment old tags are removed and replaced with new tag, containing the current details
· Records results of testing
· Items that fail testing are to be repaired by a competent person or removed from service until it can be repaired
· Ensure items that are unable to be repaired are labelled accordingly (“out of service”) or rendered unusable
· Repaired items must be retested and retagged
· Regularly monitor store stock and ensure all items are inspected, tested and tagged as per TSA WHS Safety Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment Procedure
