Barker Inlet Wetland planting activity

Conservation Volunteers Australia
Logo for Conservation Volunteers Australia

Wetlands are the super hero of nature-based solutions to climate change, so naturally, we want to help them!

Revive our Wetlands focuses on 10 priority wetlands around Australia, working with Traditional Owners, local communities and other collaborators to restore the healthy balance of these important environments. We'll be enhancing and creating habitat for the species which call them home, tackling climate change through blue carbon capture and storage, and fostering local pride and care for these special places which are teeming with life.

Join us and help protect and restore Barker Inlet Wetland, so that these special environments can continue to do the vital work they do to ensure that we all have clean air, fresh water and safe futures.

We’ll be planting on 2 & 9 July with the aim of planting 600 – 700 gahnia filums at Barker Inlet Wetland, which will help bring back the locally extinct Yellowish Sedge Skipper by restoring vulnerable Gahnia filum habitat at the Barker Inlet Wetland. Special thanks to Green Adelaide, whom initiated the decade-long project and the Port Adelaide Enfield Council. All welcome, equipment and planting training provided.
