If you’re interested in connecting with older people who are socially isolated, we’d love to hear from you! We’re looking for Volunteers who are creative thinkers and committed to supporting people live their best lives. Volunteers who can support older people with their goals around staying independent, healthy and connected to their community.

You may be interested in a connection with Cathy*, who describes herself as friendly, easy going, happy and someone who generally likes a laugh. Cathy enjoys crocheting rugs, doing word puzzles, keeping up to date with current affairs and watching news and cooking shows. In the past she was an avid gardener.

Connecting with *Cathy may involve visiting him at home, having a chat over the phone, meeting up for a coffee and/or sharing a skill. It might involve checking out what’s on offer at a local neighbourhood centre, library or an activity of interest. We offer opportunities in skill and knowledge development, as well as ongoing support and mentoring.

As a Uniting Volunteer you’ll be able to access our online learning library with over 200 courses on offer. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently are a must. Having a driver’s licence/access to own vehicle is highly desired but not essential We value diversity in lived experience, language, skills and abilities.
