Outreach Night Leader
300 BlanketsYou are someone who wants to make an extraordinary contribution to people sleeping rough in our community.
Why 300 Blankets 300 Blankets is a not for profit, volunteer-run charity, dedicated to supporting people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Victoria through three service Programs: Outreach, Soul Kitchen and Iceolation. By reaching out to people who are disenfranchised and socially isolated, we strive to break down barriers and enrich a community where all people are accepted and respected through love, compassion, and dignity.
The Outreach Program operates twice weekly on Tuesday and Thursday nights (7.00pm – 8.30pm) where a group of volunteers walk along a fixed route in Melbourne’s CBD, directly engaging with people sleeping rough. The Outreach Program operates to provide people experiencing homelessness with friendship and support in a time when they are generally in greatest need of social and material assistance. This is in recognition of the fact that social isolation and a sense of disenfranchisement can proliferate amongst people on the streets. 300 Blankets has developed a high level of trust with people sleeping rough over the last 7 years where we are known as ‘the Blankets people’.
