Marketing Coordinator

Open Table is an independent not-for-profit organisation that shares free food with the community made from surplus produce in order to reduce food insecurity and food waste. We're looking for a marketing star for 3 hours per week to share their skills to help our charity grow.

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the development and delivery of Open Table’s marketing, communications, public relations activities both external and internal, and building our organisational profile.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Prepare and assist with implementation of Open Table’s marketing plan to raise the profile of the organisation
  • Work closely with our General manager to support fundraising campaigns and sponsorship opportunities
  • Review and update promotional materials for our ‘No Waste Cook Club’ workshop program
  • Audit existing and assist with developing new marketing, communication and public relations materials
  • Liaise with key staff and stakeholders to develop a bank of stories to be used to promote the organisation
  • Advise on digital communications
  • Analyse and interpret data to assess effectiveness of marketing activities
  • Ensure that Open Table regularly conducts relevant market research and monitor trends
  • Act as an Open Table’s representative with the media and secondary spokesperson to the GM
  • Any other duties as directed by the GM, and commensurate with the scope and classification of the position

SELECTION CRITERIA

Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or career qualifications achieved through experience in a similar role are desired.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level organisational and time management skills
  • Experience in digital media, managing websites, online content, e-marketing and social media
  • Experience in PR and partnership and relationship management
  • Experience in stakeholder relations
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team environment

Desirable

  • Strong creative, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Photo and video editing skills
  • Experience in graphic design and knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite software (in particular Adobe InDesign)
  • Proficiency in Google suite
  • Ability to cope with limited resources, seize opportunities and think creatively
