If you’re interested in connecting with older people who are socially isolated, we’d love to hear from you! We’re looking for Volunteers who are creative thinkers and committed to supporting people live their best lives. Volunteers who can support older people with their goals around staying independent, healthy and connected to their community.

You may be interested in a connection with Anthea, who describes herself as a kind and friendly person who can seem reserved and quiet. Anthea likes to keep busy and enjoyed knitting and sewing in the past. Angela likes pottering around the house and being in the garden, listening to music, watching quiz shows and spending time with her family.

Connecting with *Anthea may involve visiting her at home, having a chat over the phone, meeting up for a coffee and/or sharing a skill. It might involve checking out what’s on offer at a local neighbourhood centre, library, a live music event or an activity of interest.

We offer opportunities in skill and knowledge development, as well as ongoing support and mentoring. As a Uniting Volunteer you’ll be able to access our online learning library with over 200 courses on offer. Good communications skills and the ability to work independently are a must. Having a driver’s licence/access to own vehicle is highly desired but not essential. We value diversity in lived experience, language, skills and abilities.

If you are interested in more information about Volunteering in our Social Support Program, connecting to Anthea or another older person in your area, please phone 13 93 75 and quote PJ-E-06 Name changed for privacy.
