A volunteer will need to possess the following skills and attributes:

• General fitness, physical strength and the ability to handle sizeable goods in a safe manner. Must be able to manage 10kg loads and stand for an extended period of time.
• Knowledge of how to use a washing machine and dryer and a genuine desire to assist with ensuring a clean and hygienic environment for staff and animals.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Flexibility and willingness to assist in other areas during peak times.

Key duties involve:

• Sorting donated goods such as towels, blankets, food and equipment and distributing these to the appropriate areas around the Epping Animal Welfare Facility.
• Laundering soiled towels, sheets and bedding for reuse; involves washing, drying, folding and putting away.
• Keeping the store room in a state of general tidiness, this may include the occasional sweep or mop.
