Re-vegetation Team Member

Southern Koala and Echidna Rescue Ltd

SKER has a re-vegetation program aimed at building knowledge, skills & a team specialising in re-vegetation that supports koalas and echnidnas & the greater biodiversity that supports the ecosystems they rely on.

The role of a Re-vegetation Team Member is the most flexible as it has no set schedule.

The team work together to establish a list of activities for each season & then choose their own hours to undertake them onsite.

Activities commonly include: Planting native species in planned plots Caring for the previous season's seedlings by watering, weeding and fixing guards & stakes. Controlling weeds & pest species through whipper snipping, pruning & weeding. Mulching the consumed koala browse & spreading mulch where needed.

If you love spending time in nature, like to see the positive outcomes of your efforts and perhaps don't have a large garden of your own to enjoy...this role may be for you!

Even though this role is not directly involved with the animals, we trust you will enjoy knowing your efforts have been very helpful to their survival.
