We are seeking a Sewing Volunteer who can assist with minor clothing repairs of resident’s clothing, including replacing buttons, adjusting hems and minor mending and clothing modifications. This role provides practical assistance and contributes to maintaining the dignity of residents.

The Sewing Volunteer will carry out the tasks within one of the cottages onsite to add to the home-like environment and enable residents to engage with familiar household tasks. The volunteer is encouraged to invite residents to participate and/or be a part of the activity in whichever way they chose, to foster a sense of dignity and personal satisfaction.

The commitment is one hour per week for a minimum of 12 months. We would be delighted to talk with you about a suitable day and time during the week (Monday to Friday). A sewing machine and materials needed for the repairs will be provided.
