Uniting Social Support Program keeps people connected to the community to support them to live a happy and healthy life. The program assists people to keep doing the things they love.

John describes himself as quiet, calm, easy going and open. John enjoys spending time in the garden, watching sports on TV and especially loves Soccer (Liverpool) and AFL (Richmond) and spending time with family and friends. Uniting are seeking a calm, gentle thoughtful and patient, Maltese speaking volunteer to support John* to reconnect with his community.

The selected applicant will have effective communication skills and an ability to creatively reconnect John to his interests. Visits may include coffee and conversation at John’s home or accompanying John* on walks in his local community, stopping coffee and conversation about his interests.

You will hold a valid Australian driver’s license and have access to a car that you will be prepared to transport John* in during visits. The confidence to work independently are a must.

As a valued member of the Social Support Team, you will have access to ongoing training and development, opportunities to meet new people and develop new skills. You will have support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator throughout your volunteer journey. You will be volunteering to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice to make an impact in your community. Interested?
