Administration Volunteer - Vinnies Refugee and Asylum Seeker Service (VRASS)

The VRASS Admin Worker is responsible for assisting with day-to-day office-based, organisation work at Vinnies Refugee and Asylum Seeker Service (VRASS).

Organise files Answer phone calls and respond to queries from the community Data entry using spreadsheets and databases Order stationery and other facility supplies such as copy paper, toilet paper, detergent, dish cloths, tea, coffee, etc *Other administrative tasks as directed by VRASS supervising staff

Key Selection Criteria

Essential: Good verbal and written communication skills A compassionate approach and commitment to social justice for asylum seekers and refugees Commitment to volunteering one day per week, for a period of 1 year or more Competent level of computer skills including using emails, spreadsheets and learning to use the VRASS database Highly organised approach to work Professional approach to work and the ability to follow directions from VRASS supervising staff

Desirable: Experience in other administration roles Ability to speak relevant community language such as Hazaragi, Dari, Farsi, Arabic or Tamil
