Jeays Street Community Centre provides a range of services to connect people with their wider community. The aim of Jeays Street Community Centre is to build social connectedness among the local community by providing a safe and open space where community members are able to access formal and informal community-based support, be involved in community-led initiatives and develop meaningful social networks. The Centre's programs encourage community connections and promote social supports by providing community based recreational activities, education and training opportunities, community engagement and volunteer opportunities, information, support and referral services and a space for community gatherings.
Jeays Street Community Centre exists to build social connectedness among the local community by providing a safe and open space. The Community Gardener provides support and facilitates garden activities including planting, watering, weeding, mulching and maintaining garden beds and harvesting produce. The Community Centre provides social networks and social supports for the community through community garden, community based recreational, social and vocational activities such as arts & craft groups and BBQ's.
As a Community Gardener, you will be able to connect, learn, listen and teach community members, experiencing social isolation and vulnerability. Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the World’s largest humanitarian network.
