Landing Lights Wetland Restoration

Conservation Volunteers Australia
Logo for Conservation Volunteers Australia

Landing Lights Wetland is an important conservation area on the Cooks River providing habitat for threatened migratory Wader Birds, the Grey-headed Flying Fox and Green and Golden Bell Frog. The Reserve also protects 3 Endangered Ecological Communities: Estuarine Saltmarsh, Swamp Sclerophyll Forest and Sydney Freshwater Wetlands, BUT the habitat and biodiversity is under threat from weed invasion. With your help, we hope to regenerate this wetland to its former glory.

There’s lots to be done! By volunteering with us you may have the opportunity to remove invasive plant species, mulch and prepare the site for future planting events and even take part in a wildlife survey.

Upcoming events: Wednesday 25 May Saturday 28 May
