Uniting Social Support Program keeps people connected to the community to support them to live a happy and healthy life. The program assists people to keep doing the things they love.

Jacob describes himself as friendly and sociable. Jacob enjoys pottering in the garden, reading murder mysteries and listening to music. Uniting are seeking an outgoing, engaging and easy going volunteer to support Jacob* to reconnect with his community.

The selected applicant will have effective communication skills and an ability to creatively reconnect Jacob* to his interests, including building furniture. An affinity for birds is essential. Visits may include sharing conversation and refreshments at his home or venturing out to local café or pub for lunch.

You will hold a valid Australian driver’s license and have access to a car that you will be prepared to transport Jacob* in during visits. The confidence to work independently is a must.

As a valued member of the Social Support Team, you will have access to ongoing training and development, opportunities to meet new people and develop new skills. You will have support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator throughout your volunteer journey. You will be volunteering to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice to make an impact in your community. Interested?
