Volunteer Mentors for young refugees

Farnham Street Neighbourhood Learning Centre

The Helping Hand Project is a community-based organisation. Our vision is to provide youth of refugee background with supportive Mentors, so that they can achieve their goals and reach their dreams.

Volunteer Mentors will be matched with participants aged between 14-25 years based on their skills and shared interests.

Volunteers commit to a 12-month period, approximately 1-2 hours per week or fortnight, in order to allow time to build a strong relationship.

Usually they meet at a time that is convenient for both mentor and mentee. Mostly the young people we support are in the City of Melbourne, Moonee Valley, Brimbank and Maribyrnong.
