Volunteer garden assistants should be active and enjoy working outdoors. They should be flexible and adaptable in response to changing weather conditions. Volunteers should be cheerful and enjoy being with and around older people. The ideal volunteer will also have a passion to make a positive difference to the lives of residents and being part of a team working towards common goals.

Tasks include but not limited to: lawn mowing, pruning, watering, mulching, planting and plant maintenance, weeding and removal of garden refuse to the tip.

The workload will be light but consistent. Training is provided for the use of all gardening equipment and tools. morning and afternoon tea is provided.
