About the role We are currently looking for a friendly, male volunteer bus driver to transport our residents in a 9-seater bus to Men's Group Outings and Scenic Drives. Prior experience may also include Men's Shed skills, Workshop and Gardening. Part of the role will require you safely assisting passengers on and off the bus. Stowing and securing walking aids and wheel chairs and operating a bus lift or hoist where required.

About you

  • You will have good interpersonal and communication skills
  • You will be patient, friendly and outgoing
  • Following instructions and working in a cooperative way will be paramount in this role
  • A desire to have fun will go a long way!
  • A weekly or fortnightly commitment would be ideal

Training Requirements Churches of Christ encourages all volunteers to complete training that is appropriate for their role. We do this to keep you and the people you will be supporting safe and healthy. Training occurs in a variety of ways and we will work with you to provide access and support.

When you accept a volunteer role, you will be asked to sign a Position Description that will clearly define the training requirements. Have no fear, we make training as easy and accessible as possible!

Personal History Screening All volunteers supporting vulnerable people require a current criminal history check. In Residential Aged Care and Community Care there are strict legislative requirements governing this.

What if I don't have a Police Check? Don't worry - we can apply for one and cover the cost for you. As soon as you have passed the check, you will be able to volunteer.

Please note, all volunteers within our residential and community aged care are required to be immunised for Influenza. It will also be mandatory for volunteers within our residential aged care to have received the COVID-19 vaccine and relevant Boosters, as agreed by National Cabinet. We ask that you provide proof of both of these vaccinations as part of the onboarding process prior to commencing.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
