Conservation Volunteers
Conservation Volunteers AustraliaWe exist to strengthen the health of communities and ecosystems for mutual benefit, across Australia. Through our work, we’re building a more harmonious and helpful relationship between people and nature.
People tell us that they want to play their part to re-balance nature, but they don’t know where to start. So, for almost 40 years we’ve been working to give people that opportunity through hands on volunteering.
Now, we’re growing our work to empower anyone across Australia to take action for nature.
Conservation Volunteers Mackay are currently running environmental events focusing on reducing marine debris and improving ocean health. Additionally, we are carrying out native tree propagation and planting, and wetland revitalistion projects.
Our local events include activities such as:
- Marine debris collection and surveys
- Source reduction workshops
- Educational workshops and activities
- Native seed collection, propagation, and tree planting.
- Wetland revitalisation activities such as: weed control and native tree planting.
Our projects work towards improving biodiversity in our region, and protecting marine life by reducing litter from entering our oceans.
All personal protective equipment and skills training is provided.
